Jeff Moore

Jeffrey Moore received his Bachelor's of Music Education Degree from the University of North Texas, and his Master's Degree in Percussion Performance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He has performed with several symphony orchestras in Dallas, Madison, and Orlando, as well as with the Dallas Wind Symphony. He has appeared under the batons of such notable composers and conductors as William Kraft and Witold Lutoslawski. He has also performed on drum set with many musical theatre productions, with jazz artists such as Randy Brecker and Buddy De Franco, and as a member of the University of Central Florida Faculty Jazz Trio.

Professor Moore's duties at UCF include conducting the large "Pop" Percussion Ensemble, the Chamber Percussion Ensemble, and the Marimba Band. Moore is also the conductor of the UCF Steel Drum Band, which has played on numerous occasions around the city of Orlando. He also instructs and arranges the music for the Marching Knights drum line. Professor Moore teaches all applied percussion majors and minors, as well as a percussion techniques class for music education majors.

In addition to his busy teaching, conducting, and performing schedule, Professor Moore serves as the Percussion Director of the internationally acclaimed Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps from Madison, Wisconsin. He also serves as Program Consultant/Percussion Arranger with the Jubal Drum and Bugle Corps from Dordrecht, Holland; the Sunrisers Drum and Bugle Corps from Birmingham, England; the Yokohama Inspires Drum and Bugle Corps from Yokohama, Japan; The Minnesota Brass Senior Drum and Bugle Corps from Minneapolis, Minnesota; and the Pupik Kaltin National Band in Bontang Kalimantan Tumur, Indonesia.

Professor Moore serves on the Education Advisory Committee for Latin Percussion International and the Percussive Arts Society International Marching Percussion Committee. He has also served as a consultant to the Paiste Corporation in Lucerne, Switzerland in the development of a new line of hand cymbals and gongs.

Professor Moore is a Yamaha Performing Artist/Clinician, and endorses Paiste cymbals, sounds, and gongs, Pro-mark sticks and Innovative Percussion mallets, Remo Drum Heads, Latin Percussion, and Real Feel Drum Pads.
