The UW Band consists of 26 "full-time" ranks, 1 - 25 and Rank A with a minimum of 8 people per rank and are grouped by instrument. At times, Mike utilizes ranks B and C for halftime shows, dependent upon the numbers that are needed to round out the drills that create the formations on the field. Ranks B and C usually consist of personnel who march with other ranks and may or may not be all one instrument.
